Three great mountains ranges, running parallel to each other in a jagged line from North to South, comprise the backbone of Nagaland- these are Patkai, Borail and Naga ranges. The rugged mountainous terrain is the highest in Saramati in Tuesang district, which is 3840m above sea level. Japfu Pea, 3041 m which is highest in Kohima district. Nagaland history, song and dance, indigenous crafts, costumes and jewellery and myths are the intrinsic part of the warp and weft   of its tradition.
